Our summer school in Regent Park, London, operates during the months of June, July and August. The main focus of this program is for students to improve their English through fun activities. As well as General English, learners have opportunities to develop English through other disciplines like Art, Drama, Science, Maths and Geography. These are linked together by weekly projects such as water, space or nature and the Discover London academic excursion.
Each week focuses on a particular theme, such as culture, history, commerce, or the environment. The thematic nature of the course means students learn within a meaningful context and will not repeat the same lesson nor excursion no matter when they arrive or for how long they stay.
Course length from 1 to 9 weeks. Minimum stay is 1 week. All classes are taught by specialist teachers with experience of working with 3-10 years old children. Classes are Monday through Friday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
Every new student takes a placement test on their first day. This placement test helps the team identify which level is more suited for the student. Students are then grouped by level of English and age to ensure students in the same classes are at the same stage of their cognitive development.
3 - 4 years old: The focus is on creative and play-based learning and the development of communication and social skills. As well as using song, dance, art and construction, children also use drama and music sessions to improve language skills. We will only accept toilet trained students. The school reserves the right to exclude any student who is not toilet trained. In this case, fees will not be refunded.
5 - 7 years old: Young learners are encouraged to work collaboratively through project-led activities. New information is researched by using books, computers and iPads to improve language and communication skills. Weekly excursions take place in central London.
8 - 9 years old: Students take part in exciting discovery-led activities, with a focus on communication skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing. Lessons and activities are linked to a weekly project. Weekly excursions take place in central London.
Optional Weekend Excursions: the school will organize optional full day excursions every Saturday and Sunday throughout Summer School. These will be in addition to the weekly excursions included in the program. Parents can participate in excursions with their children. Both fun and cultural, these excursions will allow the students to learn about London and visit its attractions. It will also be an opportunity for parents to notice their children's progress and meet the school staff.
The school is located in the heart of central London, near Regent's Park.
This is the 4th year that Maria my nice is coming to study here at summer with us (this summer she will study in Hyde Park). She is improving her English and social skills massively since them. My sister and brother in law coming to pick her up and spend also my daughter's birthday together, so this is the prefect excuse to bring family experience along the way. We love it and we hope to continue for years to come.
