On arrival the centre manager will meet the group off the coach and will allocate keys and apartments to each student. The group leader will be issued with a timetable outlining the events of the next 24 hours.

English Language Program for Children in IrelandThe school provides effective and enjoyable English Lessons taught by qualified teachers. In addition, the school encourages the use of English by all students outside class times. The school offers students 15 hours' tuition per week. All students receive a written and oral placement test upon arrival and an certificate upon completion of their course. Class size is a maximum of 15.

Meals for Children in Dublin City University

English Language Program for Children in IrelandThe school will provide three meals each day at the college restaurant. A packed lunch will be provided for the excursions on Saturday and Sunday. Meal times are as follows:

  • Breakfast: 8.00 am - 8.45 am
  • Lunch: 12.15 pm - 13.30
  • Dinner: 17.00 pm - 19.00 pm

Packed dinner may also be available on request.

Breakfast - Consists of a selection of cereals, toast/bread/croissants,butter/jam, milk, tea, coffee and fruit juice.

Lunch - The main course will consist of a choice two hot dishes. A vegetarianoption is always available. Salads and bread rolls are also provided.

A designated area is provided for Host Family students to eat their lunch.

Dinner - The main course will consist of a choice of two hot dishes. Avegetarian option is always available and a selection of salads for all students.Desserts include cake/ice-cream/fruit.

Water - Full supply of filtered water at both lunch and dinner which passes all regulations. Should any students have any special dietary requirements, please inform the Centre Manager on arrival.

Activities for Children in Dublin City University

English Language Program for Children in IrelandStudents follow a full activity programme which includes one half-day excursion and one full day trip at the weekend per week. The schol arranges a range of city visits, sport tournaments, activities and workshops in the afternoon. Activities are also offered each evening on campus. Students can also choose from a range of options which may be booked by the Activity Coordinator.

Accommodations for Children in Dublin City University

English Language Program for Children in IrelandThe University campus accommodation offers 3 to 5 single bedroom apartments. Each apartment has its own living room and kitchen and each bedroom has its own bathroom. All apartments are within walking distance of classrooms, campus restaurant and sports facilities. If extra pillows or blankets are required, please inform the center manager.

All rooms and common areas are thoroughly cleaned once per week with a change of bed sheets and pillow cases. Bathroom facilities are cleaned every 2/3 days. A hand towel is provided to each student on arrival to be changed weekly.

Laundry is open from approximately 8.00 am - 22.00 pm costing 2.50 Euro per wash and 3 Euro per tumble dry.

English Language Program for Children in IrelandHost Family Accomodation is also available to all our groups in friendly and welcoming Irish host families. All families are carefully selected according to strict criteria. Living with a family, allows students to have a rewarding and interesting experience; the opportunity to practise their English with native speakers and see life from the point of view of a typical Irish family.

Families provide a furnished bedroom, access to bathroom and three meals daily. The students are provided with a packed lunch each day. Families will also take care of washing the student's clothes, as necessary, and changing bed linen once per week. There will be easy access by public transport to your place of study, taking a maximum time of 20 minutes. The school recommends that two students share accommodation in the same family home.

Student Safety for Children in Dublin City University

English Language Program for Children in IrelandAll students will be provided with an identity band during their stay at the university. The band will have the University Name and Contact Telephone Number. Should the students find themselves lost or in any difficulty please contact the number on the band at any time.

The College provides on campus security 24 hours a day for the total duration of your stay. The security base is located at the side of the gymnasium.

English Language Program for Children in IrelandThe facilities are fully equipped with fire detection and alarm systems. Please note that fire drills will take place during the students' stay. Where a student deliberately interferes with a fire extinguisher, he/she will be responsible for its replacement. This costs 100 Euro. Any damage to smoke detectors in rooms will incur a charge of 80 Euro. It should be noted that fire extinguishers are alarmed. No smoking is permitted in any apartment, as this will activate the fire alarms. If the fire alarm is activated maliciously in an apartment, the school will fine the Group 200 Euro instantly.

A local doctor will be available to all students on request. It is important that all EU students bring with them the European Health Insurance card, formerly an E111 Form. The Centre Manager should be informed directly by the group leader of any student who becomes ill. Appropriate arrangements for medical care and meals can then be made. All group leaders should have the names and addresses of next of kin who may be contacted in the event of serious illness or emergencies.
