Art & Design Study Abroad Programs in Italy: Restoration & Conservation.
All courses are taught in English.
Restoration and Conservation offers great opportunities for travel and work all over the world, in a wide variety of countries and cultures, languages and religions. Studying in the Restoration and Conservation Department means exactly that. Our students have traveled to Nepal in collaboration with the University of Kathmandu to work in both Hindu and Buddhist temples. They have also found themselves in India working on frescoes and paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries. In 2007, they traveled to Chile to work at the Pablo Neruda Museum.
However, even with all of this travel, there is still plenty of work to be done right here in Italy. The Restoration Department has had the privilege to work on objects from the Medici Chapel Museum, 17th century frescoes - even polychrome wooden sculptures from the 16th to 18th centuries. At our school, you will work directly and exclusively on original materials from the 14th to 19th centuries. These opportunities are provided by religious, state or even private institutions and are carried out under the direction of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Artistici.
The question isn't what may be waiting for you, but what are you waiting for?
