The form of preparing dishes and cooking, the flavors and smells of a country, are a very important part of his culture. At our school chool we are convinced that language is culture. But the Venezuelan culture is much more then language. It is because we accommodate our Spanish students in Venezuelan host families. And if you like cooking and eating, you will enjoy this short Venezuelan cooking course. It was conceived as an additional activity for our Spanish language students, but also other persons, that are not taking Spanish lessons with us, can participate.
Courses are offered on several Saturdays during the year from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Minimum participants quote is 3. It will be held by our school director. Besides her job, which is teaching Spanish, she loves to cook, and has taken a lot of cooking courses.
We will cook following dishes:
- Arepas and empanadas (Venezuelan dishes based on corn flour)
- Sancocho (Venezuelan soup with chicken or fish)
- Huevo perico (Venezuelan breakfast egg dish)
