We do one thing at our School, and we do it well: We teach English to teenage, college-age and adult individuals from around the world to whom English is a foreign language. Regardless of their level of expertise in English, whether non-existent, rudimentary, or advanced, we help them improve. The School is located in downtown Provo (population 110,000) in just a few hours' drive from some of the most popular tourist attractions in the United States. The center lies in the heart of a broad, picturesque valley flanked on both the east and west by the mighty Rocky Mountains. A few minutes' drive takes you into cool, lush alpine wilderness, or to the shores of Utah Lake. Numerous international restaurants are within walking distance of the center, in a thriving downtown that is safe and serene, day and night.
Provo and its surrounding cities are among the safest places in the United States. In fact, Provo has gained national attention twice in the 1990's being named by independent publications as the #1 place to live in the entire country! The area still shows up regularly on national Top-10 lists for quality of life.
The local university, BYU, draws students from all over the world, and an exceptionally large percentage of BYU's students have lived in a foreign country and speak a foreign language. So you are likely to encounter locals who speak your language, and will be surrounded by people who can empathize with someone who is living in a foreign country.
If you like the big-city atmosphere, Salt Lake City is just an hour to the north, with a professional basketball team, an international airport, concert halls, and major convention centers. Or a five-hour drive will bring you to Las Vegas, which is an internationally renowned gambling and entertainment mecca.

Utah has the most national parks of any state in the Union, so you will never run out of places to hike, camp, picnic, or enjoy more vigorous activities like water skiing, mountain biking, river rafting, and rock climbing. Popular tourist sites like Arches National Monument, Bryce Canyon, even Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, are all mere day trips from Provo. From snow-capped mountains and verdant alpine meadows to picturesque, barren desert landscapes, Utah has it all!
