Visas and Application Deadlines

To study English in the United States, you will need a Student visa (F-1). If your trip to the U.S. is primarily for business or tourism and you decide to study English incidental to your visit, you do not need a Student visa (F-1). To apply for a student visa you need to present an I-20 Student Visa form. The School in Hawaii is authorized under the Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant alien students and issue them the I-20 Student Visa Forms.

Once you have been accepted, you will be sent an I-20 form. This form needs to be taken to a U.S. Consultate or Embassy, together with a valid passport and a bank statement or letter from your banker or corporate sponsor written on letterhead, which shows funds in excess of the total amount listed on. After the application has been processed and accepted by the U.S. Consulate or Embassy the student will receive a Student (F-1) Visa.

It takes time to obtain a student visa. Please apply as early as possible. Normally, we must receive a complete set of application documents and a full payment of fees no later than 30 days (21 days - if you do not need to apply for visa) before the program starts. Acceptance of late applications is subject to space availability.
