CELTA Course: Overview
of the TEFL World Job Market
Although we are not a job placement agency, we believe that our job information and guidance services are significantly better than those offered by any other TEFL training center in Canada or the USA.
Over the past five years, our graduates have taught in more than 50 countries, from Argentina to Zimbabwe.

Job Guidance Services
"Anyone with the RSA/Cambridge Certificate is in a very strong position to get a job in any country where English is widely taught." (Susan Griffith, Teaching English Abroad)
WHERE DO PEOPLE TEACH EFL?
There are EFL schools/programs everywhere, but most are in non-English speaking countries. Teaching takes place in public schools, language schools, universities, companies, etc. Public school classes are often very large: 30+ students. Classes in language schools and in companies usually have 6-14 students, and some are 1-on-1.
HOW LONG ARE THE CONTRACTS?
WHEN DO THEY START?
Most legal jobs are for a year, particularly if they are arranged in advance, with the employer providing airfare and/or housing. Some 3-6 month contract jobs exist, but most short term jobs are hourly paid and can only be arranged in the overseas country.
Jobs are usually available at any time of the year. The exception is Europe, where 90% of jobs start in October or January.
