We run English for Tourism courses for over 30 years and has a highly-qualified and experienced teaching staff.
Key Features
- The courses are ideal for people working, or planning to work, in the Travel and Tourism Industry; they are also suitable for anyone who needs to communicate in English with visitors to their country.
Students work on practical language using authentic materials and situations, with an emphasis on communicative skills and specialist vocabulary.
- There is a topic-based syllabus - topics include: hotels, air travel, cruises, travel agencies, tour operation, types of holiday, the organisation and structure of tourism, guiding, future developments in tourism.
- Study visits (e.g to a top London hotel) and speakers working in tourism are arranged.
Students can enter for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry English for Tourism examinations. Course content also fits in with vocational training courses internationally.
- Classes are held in small groups: maximum 12, average 8, per class.
- There is a variety of programme options.
Programme 1: Standard course
General English plus English for Tourism. This is a four-week, full-day, 28 lessons per week programme with English for Tourism in the afternoon and General English in the morning. This course is suitable both for students who are thinking of working in Tourism and for students who are already studying or working in Tourism.
Programme 2: Special closed-group course
Minimum number of six participants - designed to fit the particular needs and interests of the group. The number of lessons and length of course is up to you - please contact us if you need help designing the right course for you and your group.
