Junior English Summer Camps in Oxford (10 - 12 and 13 - 17)

Our Junior Summer Camp in Oxford is based at Oxford Brookes University, Headington Hill campus, making this an ideal choice for students looking for the classical Oxford experience. Located a short walk from the Oxford town centre, the campus is held to be on the UK's leading modern campuses, offering the highest standards of accommodation, leisure and teaching facilities.

Junior Summer Camp in Oxford, EnglandStudents study for 20 lessons per week in international classes of up to 15 students. Each lesson lasts for 50 minutes. On their first day students take a test to ensure they are placed in an appropriate level. There are six levels of study, from beginner to advanced. All students receive an end-of-course certificate.

All our teachers are graduates with recognised TEFL certificates, and are extensively briefed on the particular needs of young learners. The language is brought to life through a vibrant and functional approach. In addition to formal language skills training, lessons include project work, videos, games and use a wide variety of modern English language teaching resources.

Specialised Course is a three-week course, offering 60 lessons of focused training and development sessions. The specialised lessons are supplemented by 6 lessons (5 hours) of general English on 2 afternoons.

Specialised course students will mix in with general program students for meals and some activities. There will be some alternative activities and excursions for students on a specialised course, which will relate to their studies.

While studying leadership, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of:

  • Team-work and leading a team
  • Debating skills, influencing people and political awareness
  • Public speaking techniques and practice
  • Business language and strategic problem solving
  • Developing a business proposal and a sales strategy

A final business focused project will bring together all of the topics studied.

Students on this course will also have the opportunity to take part in talks by industry leaders and university representatives, as well as visit local businesses and world famous universities.

Summer Camp Location in Oxford

Summer Camp Accommodation in OxfordTeaching, meals, and activities are all provided at the campus of Oxford Brookes University, 25 minutes' walk from the town centre. This is a safe, self-contained and leafy campus, with plenty of green outdoor space to relax and enjoy our social programme. The modern teaching, student housing and leisure/dining facilities are all within easy walking distance of each other.

Accommodation is provided in the residence, Clive Booth Hall. It is a 10 minute walk from the tuition building. Campus facilities include an indoor sports hall and outdoor playing fields; shops, cafes and vending machines; modern classrooms; a modern dining room and a lecture theatre for film nights.

Summer Activities in Oxford

Summer Camp Activities in OxfordThere is one full-day and one half-day excursion per week. Full-day excursions include London sightseeing, Cambridge, Bath, Shakespeare's Stratford and Oxford. Half-day excursions include Windsor, Blenheim Palace, The Oxford Story and Oxford Colleges. There is also a full social programme every afternoon and evening, including a choice of sports (swimming, table tennis, football and so on) as well as other activities including movie nights, salsa dance lessons, karaoke nights and student discos.

Accommodation Options in Oxford

Summer Camp Accommodation in OxfordAll students are accommodated in a modern residence on the self-contained campus, located 10 minutes' walk from the tuition building. All rooms are single with en-suite bathroom and of a very high standard. The residence is separated into flats with 4-6 bedrooms in each. Each flat has a shared communal area for students to enjoy. There is a telephone in each room for students to recieve calls on. There is also laundry room and vending machines and the residence has its own 24-hour security.
