Summer English courses for Kids and Teens in England

Junior English Summer Program in Eastbourne

Our English Summer courses during the summer offer students from 10 to 16 years of age a wide choice of activities to follow. The courses include 15 hours of English tuition from 09:00 to 12:30, Monday to Friday. All lessons are 45 minutes. Students study grammar, vocabulary and everyday English, but the most important thing is listening and speaking practice. We aim to build up our students' confidence and fluency.

There are activities every afternoon and evening, plus a full-day excursion every Saturday and a half-day excursion every Wednesday afternoon. Many activities take place in the College grounds (we are situated in a 13-hectare park).

Last Year, we had students from 25 countries: Algeria, Belarus, Belgium, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey and Ukraine.

How are the students supervised?

Students are met at the airport and all activities and residential accommodation is supervised according to British Council's 1999 recommendations:

  • Minimum two adults with every group of students who leave the College
  • Minimum one adult to every 15 students aged 12 or over
  • Minimum one adult for every for every 8 students age under 12

All our staff are checked with the Police to make sure they are suitable people to work with children. Residential students can only go out of the College alone in the afternoon or evening if their parents give written permission. Homestay students have more independence, but they must be home by the following times (except when there are College activities later in the evening):

  • Age 13-15 - 21:00
  • Age 16 - 22:00

Accommodation Options in Eastbourne

Residential (age 10-16): you're with a big group of friends, you don't have to spend time going to and from the College because everything is in one place: accommodation, meals, lessons and many social activities. Most of our dormitories have four or five beds, but some rooms have more. Two large rooms have ten beds each.

Homestay (age 13-16): you have more independence and you experience life with a British family. Homestay students share a bedroom with one other student.
