International Junior Summer Spanish Language Camp in Barcelona, Spain.

Special Junior Program for Teens in Barcelona
5 to 18 years old

Barcelona holds the best of both worlds: beachside fun and all the cultural attractions of one of Europe's most admired cities. A hub for fashion, design, music, cuisine and the arts, students can benefit from all Barcelona has to offer as well as the quiet and relaxation of Mediterranean shores.

This is also a great opportunity for youngsters to discover the peculiarities of Catalonia and Catalan culture, gaining a unique understanding of Spain's regional differences.

Our Barcelona Junior Program is held at the Agora Student residence, one of the best student residences of the University of Barcelona, surrounded by mountains and a nature reserve. The residence facilities include: several common areas such as playroom, tv room, computer room, study room, dining room, terrace with garden access and sport facilities.

Age Group: 5 to 18 years old.

Our Special Junior Program for Teens in Barcelona is designed for students 5 to 18 years old who would like to spend a summer learning Spanish in Spain, with 2 key differences from our traditional summer camps:
  1. International students only. First, these programs are for international students only, and activities are not shared with Spaniards.

  2. The entire city as a campus. Second, the Junior Program is not held on an all-in-one campus. Instead, students live, eat and sleep in a residence hall and attend morning Spanish classes at a nearby school.
The program includes one "tutor" for every 12-15 students, providing 24 hour supervision. The tutor will accompany the students on all extra-curricular activities, including one excursion per 2-week session, and afternoon activities around the city.

Spanish Language Courses Facilities: The Camp in Barcelona consists of 2 main sections: a residence where the students stay and another section where classes are held. Within the residence, facilities include: nicely sized bedrooms (80% have private bathrooms) with windows facing gardens, a common room with a TV, a games room and a cafeteria. The shared bathrooms are very large with separate stalls for sinks, toilets and showers. The school has its own kitchen with 2 large dining halls, as well as sports facilities.

Capacity: 130 students.

Accommodations: The Barcelona Camp offers residence stays with dorm rooms for 2 to 4 students per room. Laundry service is included.

In addition to the Residential Stay in the Camp, we also offer a Day Camp program.
  • Is your family going to be in Spain for the summer? If so, the Day Camp may be a right choice for you and your children. This option is designed so campers can attend all camp activities during the day and return to their families at night. Day Camp students take part in all the same classes, sports, workshops, excursions, etc. with residential students from about 9.15 AM to 8.00 PM, but they will stay with their families at night and on the weekends. Lunch and snack are included. Transportation to and from the Camp is optional.

  • Homestay program is not offered in Barcelona.

The capital of Catalonia is unequivocally a Mediterranean city, not only because of its geographic location but also and above all because of its history, tradition and cultural influences. The documented history of the city dates back to the founding of a Roman colony on its soil in the second century B.C. Modern Barcelona experienced spectacular growth and economic revival at the onset of industrialization during the second half of the 19th century. The 1888 World's Fair became a symbol of the capacity for hard work and the international outlook projected by the city. Culture and the arts flourished in Barcelona and in all of Catalonia; the splendor achieved by Catalonian modernism is one of the most patent displays.

Barcelona, more than just a single city, is really a collection of multi-faceted and diverse cities. The visitor unfamiliar with its history might be surprised that such a modern and enterprising city preserves its historic Gothic center almost intact, or by the curious contrast between the maze of narrow streets and the grid-like layout of the Eixample, the urban planning "Enlargement" project of the end of the 19th century.
