We offer different activities outside the classroom to learn and enjoy Spanish culture.






Social and Cultural Activities

  • Paradiso: Welcome party, Farewell party. Traditional Salamancan celebrations.
  • La ciudad de los prodigios: Trips through monumental Salamanca, literary (la Salamanca insólita de Azucena) and visits to the city museums (Casa Lys, splendid collection of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, Film Museum, among others), galleries and art exhibits.
  • Señas de identidad: Contact with Salamancan folklore and typical food.
  • Los gozos y las sombras: Afternoon in the Salamancan country and bullfight. "Toro Carnival" at Ciudad Rodrigo. Holly Week processions.

El Ruedo Ibérico

    Thematic trips with varying itineraries, for example,

    • El Reino de León y el Camino de Santiago (León, Astorga);
    • La Extremadura inexplorada (Plasencia, Yuste, Las Hurdes, Trujillo, Guadalupe, Cáceres, Mérida);
    • Lágrimas de Portugal (Almeida, Guarda, Coimbra);
    • De Madrid al Cielo (visita al Museo de Prado, Reina Sofía);
    • La Ruta de los Castillos (Del Buen Amor, Cuéllar, Coca);
    • La Cuna del Castellano (San Millán de la Cogolla, Santo Domingo de la Calzada).

Cinema Forum

    Cinema Forum involves showing and commentating different films once a week. Here is a list of examples for film cycles:
    • Ciclo Luis Buñuel (Tierra sin pan, El ángel exterminador, Simón del desierto, Nazarín, Tristana, Viridiana, etc.);
    • Ciclo Pedro Almodóvar (¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?, La ley del deseo, Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios, !Atame!, Todo sobre mi madre, etc.);
    • Ciclo "humor negro" (El cochecito, Plácido, El verdugo, Faustino, un asesino de la tercera edad, etc.);
    • Ciclo about social conflicts (El pisito, El sacerdote, El diputado, Los santos inocentes, Cartas de Alou, Alas de mariposa, Familia, Barrio, Solas, etc.)

Other Activities

  • weekly conferences open to the public and led by well-known figures of Spanish culture or unique individuals of Salamancan life;
  • meetings in a charming cafe to speak with lecturers, professors, or other Spanish students;
  • an exchange program to practice Spanish with other Spanish students;
  • discussions of the arts (this is why the walls of our School are decorated with works by Spanish artists, in a series of temporary exhibitions; we also organize, periodically, presentations of books and poetry readings);
