When we started to teach Spanish over 30 years ago one of the major problems we faced was a lack of quality published teaching materials.
We converted this problem into one of our major strengths by deciding to create our own materials.
The textbooks are the practical definition of our teaching philosophy and provide most of our students with excellent study manuals. They include a series of teaching units and homework exercises which lead the student progressively through the language in a logical and coherent manner and provide the background structure that the language learner demands.
In addition, the Multimedia Study Centre has a range of self-access materials created by our own staff: worksheets, CD rom materials, audio tapes, gap fill exercises etc. This enables each student to choose the area of language or culture they wish to improve or learn about and the medium in which to do it.
All the teaching materials are in a state of constant revision as our teaching approach continues to evolve and develop. This work is the responsibility of our Research and Development Department.
Our textbooks are currently in use for levels:
- Beginner 1 to Advanced 1 (inclusive) of general Spanish (Intensive, Special Intensive, Mini Group, 1-1 and Hispanic Studies Term 1)
- Summer Courses
- Master Class
On other courses we use a mixture of selected, published textbooks and other supplementary materials according to the needs of the students and the objectives of the particular course.
