Quality control and recognition

The School is justifiably proud of its high standards - seen in its excellent facilities, its well-trained teachers, its internally published teaching materials, its on-going total commitment to quality and its world-wide reputation as one of the leading Schools in Spain.

However, in an increasingly competitive world, popular acclaim is no longer sufficient - it is necessary to show external and independent proof of quality.

For this reason, and due to the lack of an official scheme in Spain for the proper inspection and "recognition" of private-sector language schools, the School turned to EAQUALS as its source of such proof of quality.

EAQUALS (the European Association for Quality Language Services) was formed in late 1991 and has since then created a Europe-wide inspection scheme to control and underwrite the quality of language schools in Europe. The development of this scheme has been partly funded by the European Commission's Lingua Programme as project 93.08/1156/I-VA.

Our School was the first dedicated School of Spanish to be inspected and admitted to Membership. The inspection is extremely rigorous (dealing with 162 different criteria detailed within the scheme) and was conducted over several days by an external and independent team of experts in the field of language teaching.

In addition to full members (who must pass the inspection), EAQUALS also has Associate Members who include such renowned institutions as The British Council, The Goethe Institute, the Dante Alighieri Society and the University of Cambridge Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
