In the afternoons and evenings we offer a variety of activities including conferences concerning present-day topics of interest, film sessions, guided tours, trips to the beach or hiking in Sierra Nevada.
Every weekend we offer an interesting travel program. It includes tours to the Alpujarras, different nature parks, Seville, Córdoba, Ronda or Morocco.

Federico García Lorca is without a doubt one of the most widely-read Spanish poets in the world. Apart from the unquestionable quality of his literature, the nature of his premature death and the interruption of his work at the height of his career have increased the interest in his poetry and plays today.
He was born on June 5, 1898 in the small Andalusian village of Fuentevaqueros, Granada, the son of a
well-to-do, liberal family. His talents include not only poetry but music and painting as well. Granada is where, in 1936, during the first weeks of the Spanish Civil War, Lorca was murdered by the fascists. The poet was only 38 years old.
In Granada he studied Law, Philosophy and Letters and
Music. Together with the composer Manuel de Falla
he organized the first Cante Jondo (Flamenco) festival
in Granada in 1922.
In 1929 Lorca transferred to Colombia University in New York. After his return to Spain he founded the
theatre group La Barraca. They presented classical plays in Spanish villages and in 1933 met great success on their tour through South America. With the plays Bodas de Sangre, Yerma and La Casa de Bernarda Alba Lorca gained recognition in the world of theatre.
His most outstanding poetic works are Romancero Gitano, Poemas del Cante Jondo and Poeta en Nueva York.
Throughout the year, conferences, guided tours and film sessions related to Federico García Lorca are an important part of our cultural programme.
