Get your NAUI internationally acclaimed SCUBA diving licence at Jeffreys Bay Language School. Your SCUBA diving package includes 2 weeks of your choice of General English or General English Focus and 4 days of full time SCUBA diving. Our SCUBA diving instructor has over 7 years experience.
Jeffreys Bay is famous for its beautiful underwater life. The water is very colourful with a variety of soft coral, such as the very famous Starbaskets. The area is filled with dolphins and humpbacked whales and Jeffreys Bay is famous for its abundance of ragged tooth sharks or 'raggies' as they are known. The sea depth is on average 15 metres and the greatest beauty of Jeffreys Bay is that it one can dive in a very unspoilt ocean where it is quite easy to find an undiscovered reef.
Various diving courses are on offer ranging from the Open Water 1 to a Rescue diver course. You will need a minimum of Pre-Intermediate level English before you can do the diving course. You can have 2 weeks of General English or General English Focus to upgrade your English skills before completing the SCUBA diving course.
The Open Water 1 course consists of a Theory element where you will learn all you need to know about the basics of SCUBA diving, including safety. It also uses swimming pool training where you will get used to breathing underwater. You will write a diving qualification exam and will complete the course with an internationally recognized NAUI certificate which will enable you to be a recognised diver in any country in the world.
All SCUBA diving packages include 2 weeks General English and a 4 day SCUBA diving course.
Please note: Courses are run in the following order, (1) Open Water 1, (2) Advanced diver, and (3) Rescue diver. One can only complete a course if the course preceding it has already been completed, ie. Can only complete (2) Advanced diver course if (1) Open Water 1 dive course has previously been completed, etc.
Please note:
- Dive lesson schedule will be arranged on arrival.
- Surf lesson includes board and wetsuit rental
- General English consists of 15 lessons per week.
- General English Focus is 25 lessons per week.
- All dive lessons include the necessary equipment.
- No refunds on packages.
- Double room is sharing with 1 other person.
