Attendance
Attendance is mandatory for all courses. Students who stop attending one or more courses without having formally dropped them will receive an "F" in those courses. Students who miss 20% of the course contact hours will have their final grade lowered by one full letter grade. Students who miss more than 20% of the course contact hours will not receive credit for the course/s that have been missed and their final grade/s will be "F"(s).
Arrival Dates
Students need to arrive on the official housing move in dates within each city. This is usually the day before classes and the on-site orientation begins. If you arrive early, you will need to secure a hotel or hostel for your stay. Contact the Enrollment Center for additional information and suggestions for hotels, etc. If you arrive late, proceed to your study city. You must contact either the Enrollment Center or the school office in Italy to inform them of your arrival time if you are arriving late. If you are delayed and will be arriving in the middle of the night, please stay in a hotel and contact the school the following morning.
Student Behavior
It is understood that any participate in a our program will obey the laws of the host country. This of course forbids the use of illegal drugs and alcohol consumption by minors. Students are expected to be courteous and respectful at all times and abusive behavior will not be tolerated. The School reserves the right to expel (without refund) any student whose behavior violates the school's policies or those of special program providers, tour operators, etc. Furthermore, any expenses incurred by the IPSA and school in terminating the program of a student who violates the policies and rules of conduct will be the responsibility of the participant.
Insurance
Participants are asked to check their personal insurance protection as they are not automatically insured by the school against illness, accident, theft, personal liability, etc. We can provide our clients with the services of an international insurer (on request).
Courses:
In the event that any of the courses originally selected are not available (e.g., closed due to class size limit or cancelled due to insufficient enrollment), you will automatically be enrolled in the alternative(s) selected.
Once course selections have been made, (including alternatives) only one course can be changed upon arrival in your host city depending on course availability. This variation to the course schedule can be done only once and only during the FIRST WEEK of classes and before Final Registration. Section changes are considered course changes.
Once within your host city, you should see your advisor for the appropriate form in case you need to add/drop a course. Once this form has been filled out and signed, it must be returned to your advisor, who will then receive final approval from the Registrar. As soon as classes start, and if you drop one or more classes, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Holidays
Classes are normally not held and school facilities are closed on national holidays. Compensation for group courses will not be made for public holidays. Compensation is only provided for One-to-one Courses.
Accommodation:
The school offers Housing assistance services with the sole intention of facilitating the student's study abroad experience. Students can make their own accommodation arrangements if theu wish.
Postponement of Courses
If you want to defer defer your admission to another term, you must submit your request in writing to the Enrollment Center. This determination will be made on a case by case basis. Depending on when it is submitted, the circumstances behind the submission and if housing has already been secured, will determine the viability of deferring.
Cancellation Policy
Program Cancellation before the course starting date:
Cancellation fees are charged as follows, and any balance is refunded less non-refundable items and bank fees and payment processing charges (if any). Any refunds will be made within 30 days of cancellation notification.
Cancellations received:
- 30 or more days before the course begins: 200 Euro cancellation fee;
- 20 or more days, but less than 30 days before the course starting date:
cancellation fee in the amount of 200 Euro + 30% of the program fees;
- more than 7, but less than 20 days before the course starting date:
cancellation fee in the amount of 200 Euro + 50% of the program fees;
- There is no refund if the cancellation received 7 or less days before the course starting date.
Housing Cancellation before the accommodation check-in date:
Cancellation fees are charged as follows, and any balance is refunded less non-refundable items and bank fees and payment processing charges (if any). Any refunds will be made within 30 days of cancellation notification.
Cancellations received:
- 45 or more days before the check-in date - the accommodation deposit is refunded in full.
- 30 or more days, but less than 45 days before the check-in date:
cancellation fee in the amount of 250 Euro;
- 30 or less days before the course starting date:
cancellation fee in the amount of 250 Euro + the first month housing monthly rent; please be aware that 250 Euro housing deposit is not kept by the school, but retained by the landlord to cover the loss of the tenant.
- There is no refund of housing fees upon arrival for any reason (cancellation, change or vacating).
In no case money will be refunded once the course and/or lodging has started. No refund can be given for partial attendance or the discontinuance or interruption of a course.
Force Majeure.
It is a basic stipulation of the agreement/contract between students and IPSA or consortium member schools or representatives, that neither IPSA, nor any of its member schools or representatives, is liable to the students in cases where IPSA or the school is unable to fulfill any services to which they are contractually bound because of labor disputes or other reasons beyond their control.
