Teaching Method:

    The Centre uses a practical and stimulating teaching method based on modern techniquesto encurage the development of students communicative skills. Grammar and syntax are explained clearly and simply.

    Textbooks are frequently updated in accordance with the enhancements in linguistics and didactics. In addition to textbooks, teaching material is also taken from everyday life, e.g. articles from newspapers, magazines, etc. in order to stimulate expressive skills and improve phonetics and vocabulary.

Teachers:

    All mother tongue, they undergo a careful selection aimed at ascertaining not only their academic qualifications but also their communicative and professional skills. They follow periodic updating training courses.

Teaching Levels and Course Structure:

    The schools offers Italian language instruction at 6 teaching levels:
    1. Beginner
    2. Elementary
    3. Pre-Intermediate
    4. Intermediate
    5. Upper-Intermediate
    6. Advanced

    On arrival every student will be invited to take a preliminary written/oral test aimed at defining the level of language knowledge. At the end of this test, the students will be subdivided into homogeneous classes with a max of 12 people (an average of 8). The small number of students in each class facilitates the teaching and the development of individual skills.

    Each level lasts fours weeks. At the end of each level, students will have the opportunity to take an examination accreditated by The European Language Certificates (TELC) for an additional fee.

    Every lesson lasts 60 minutes, which allows students to fully exploit their stay. Within every single level an appropriate language teaching program is carried out, gradually leading the students to acquire a knowledge of the language structures and application in the most varied linguistic situations. Special care is given to refining pronunciation and to enriching vocabulary through readings and conversations on a wide variety of topics.

Italian Language and Culture Courses:

    You can choose any of the following Italian language courses and study from two weeks to 12 months:
    • Basic Italian Language course: 20 hours of instruction per week in group.
    • Intensive Italian Language and Culture course: Basic (20 hours) + 5 hours of cultural subjects* per week in group.
    • Extra Intensive "A": 20 hours of instruction in group + 5 individual lessons per week.
    • Extra Intensive "B": 20 hours of instruction in group + 10 individual lessons per week.

      The above courses are available at all levels. Minimum age: 18

      * On two afternoons per week from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. students attend cultural theme classes. These lessons are already included in the intensive course, but also other students can ask to attend the cultural course for an additional nominal fee.

      Specific topics (Italian history, culture and tradition, music, literature, art, archaeology, manners and etiquette, etc.) are informally handled with by involving the participants in conferences, debates and different activities.

Individual Programs:

    These are particulary suited for those who do not have much time but want to achieve precise objectives. The course is organized according to the participant's specific requirements.

    The teaching material is selected in compliance with the student's personal needs and, if he/she wants to go into particular subjects, it will be supplemented by the material provided directly by the student.

    Minimum age: 16

Certificates:

    At the end of every course each participant will be given a certificate of attendance showing the level of language command attained. This certificate can represent a valuable investment for the student's "curriculum vitae".

Schedule of Classes:

    The school can provide its students with two alternative solutions for course attendance:
      MORNING - 9:00 a.m. / 1:30 p.m.
      AFTERNOON - 4:00 p.m. / 8:30 p.m.
