Sorrento is a real haven of peace for study and creativity and it is not by chance that it has been, for more than three centuries, the destination of international artists, poets and musicians.
The town, Torquato Tasso's birthplace, was also the residence for some time of Wolfgang Goethe, who found here the muse inspiring the composition of his famous "Parsifal", Ibsen who wrote "Ghosts" in Sorrento, Lord Byron, F.Cooper, I. Taine, Giacomo Leopardi, Albert Dumas, Giuseppe Verdi, Oscar Wilde and Friedric Nietzsche who lived here finding inspiration for extraordinary works.

"The Italian language classes that my daughter and I just completed in Sorrento were fabulous. The teachers were excellent, and the classes interesting and demanding. My daughter learned easily twice as much in the three weeks she studied there compared to an entire year in high school. She was able to converse in Italian enough to carry on basic conversations, and her comprehension of spoken Italian was excellent, even when the Italians speaking were talking at a normal conversational speed.
My daughter commented to me that the month she spent in Italy was the best vacation she ever had. She was particularly happy about how much she learned and that she was able to talk to the Italian kids she met after a couple of weeks. My Italian improved tremendously as well.
All of the teachers and administrators were friendly, informative, and well-versed in language teaching techniques. To take a classroom as diverse as the ones we were in (three Japanese students, one French, three American, two German) and have everyone learning and talking was just incredible."

Legend has it that the Sorrento bays used to be inhabited by wonderful sirens from whom the town tool its own name: Surrentum. Destination of the international tourism for centuries, Sorrento is one of the most celebrated places in literature. The town and the whole Peninsula projecting into the Tyrrhenian Sea, between the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno, has always been renowned for a mild climate and the particular beauty of the nature.
These elements, combined with a rich urban and historical heritage, have made it, for centuries, one of the main stops of the "journey to Italy". Its countryside, rich in olive and citrus trees (its lemons are famous worldwide), together with the Mediterranean scrub, the colours of the rocks and the deep blue of the sea, determine its eternal charm.
Strolling around the town streets is an experience rich in emotion and surprises. Refined bars and meeting places alternate with elegant shops: from the most exclusive names of the Italian fashion to small, precious handicraft and antiques shops.
Particularly renowned here in Sorrento are the workshops where today just as in the 16th century, skillful cabinet-makers inlay wood and create real furniture jewels while expert silk craftsmen produce precious masterpieces.
Sorrento is a solar town that has always known how to turn every stay into an unforgettable holiday; here sea, sand, colours, scents, relax and cheerfulness create a magical mix with mythology, culture and a multimillenary tradition.
