Please note that prices in Euros listed on this website are for students from different countries who are not interested in credit transfer to American colleges and universities. For U.S. students interested in credit transfer, we offer special fixed prices in U.S. Dollars. Please contact us for more information.
To receive direct credit, you need to get approval from your own institution prior to beginning your studies. We are happy to provide any necessary information to help you do this. We are more than willing to provide your university with the course information such as: course syllabus, total hours taken, teacher evaluation, attendance report, curriculum covered, final exam with letter grade, etc., in order to grant academic credit for your course.
At the end of your studies we will also provide, upon request, a detailed transcript of your work for you to take back to your home institution.
For US credit-students please find below our registration guidelines:
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED for the application process:
- Application form signed and completed
- Copy of student's most recent transcript (via email or fax)
- Two letters of recommendation written by professors who know the student fairly well
- Student's essay (reason for choosing this program, experience abroad, future goals, reason for GPA)
The minimum GPA is 2.8. When the student's GPA is lower than 2.8, please e-mail complete materials (listed below) so that the Board of Directors can approve the admission.
The school does not discriminate against students with learning disabilities. We kindly ask you to send official documentation of the learning disability during the registration process, so that we can best accommodate the students. For certain types of learning disabilities, the student may qualify for an exemption from the mandatory Italian language class.
LIST OF EXTRA COSTS, CAMERA REQUIREMENTS, COURSE DESCRIPTIONS and SYLLABI
Lab fees, course materials and field trips are not included in the tuition costs. Students must check the list of extra costs, and the camera requirements for the photography courses (both attached). All Studio Art classes require students to buy their own materials, which can be bought on-site. We recommend that students consult the relevant course syllabus for a general idea of what is required for each class, though some details may change over time. Costs vary from term to term.
PLACEMENT TESTS & LEVEL TESTS
Students registering for an intermediate or advanced course, including Italian language, must choose the appropriate level by carefully checking the Academic Catalogue and Course Schedule for prerequisites. At the Institute, these students will take a placement test to confirm their level. Students are responsible for ensuring that their home institution will grant them credits for courses taken at the Institute. This includes alternative courses and any course changes resulting from placement test/level adjustments.
The Italian language placement test consists of a written exam, featuring progressively difficult questions. This is followed by a brief interview with a professor to evaluate the student's comprehension and speaking skills.
IMPORTANT POINTS FOR STUDENT COURSE SELECTION
Students must provide alternative courses/sections to their first choices. If classes are full, cancelled or create a time conflict with one another, we automatically register the students in their alternative.
It is the students' responsibility to make sure they meet the prerequisites (if applicable) listed on the Course Schedule and on their official registration.
