Social Programs and Activities in Heidelberg

Culturally Heidelberg offers anything and everything starting at the Great Hall of Art and the State Opera, and continuing on to the music clubs on the Reeperbahn. There are 31 theaters in Heidelberg, 6 musical performing halls, 10 cabarets as well as 50 public and private museums and 4000 restaurants to choose from.

There are hundreds of things to do in the afternoons. In the summer we organise outings and excursions to places of interest, we throw parties, take you on visits, cultural attractions and exhibitions, and show you why the people of Heidelberg like their town so much.

There are many theatres and cinemas; the club scene is big here, there's live music everywhere as well as dance halls and discos for all tastes. Apropos taste: A 'Heidelberger' is not really a traditional Heidelberg dish, although you will find it here, too. But do try the traditional 'Aalsuppe' and 'Labskaus' or have a 'Bismarck herring' at the fishmarket on early Sunday morning after partying the Saturday away.

Conversation Group Activity

Languages bring people closer. Whoever learns a foreign language is en route to making new friends.

Our school organises leisure time activities for the students, who attend the morning courses. Every Tuesday, at 6p.m., a film is shown (about 2 or 3 hours). On Thursday you have the opportunity to attend a casual conversation class organised by one of our teachers in order to help you to practise the target language. You do not have to pay any extra fees for participating in these additional activities.

It is worth knowing too that during our conversation classes, you may ask whatever you want, you will always find somebody who will answer your questions or queries. So, if you want to have fun, to attend freewheeling discussions, do not hesitate to take part in our discussions.

During the discussions, we not only deal with topics related to German culture or grammar, we also talk about everyday life, about your problems with the language and we try to help you in finding the best solution to your conundrum.
