Our French Language School in Ottawa has an exciting variety of French programs to choose from! The school offers small group intensive French classes to adult students from around Canada and the world.

We organize French language training on a private, semi-private or small group basis. All programs are tailor-made to meet your individual needs. Group classes for the general public are offered during the summer.

The school offers French language training in the summer to adults. Classes are in small group intensive format focussing on the skills you need to speak the language. You can choose between 30 lessons or 20 lessons per week.

Effective Method
All instruction is based on a functional-communicative approach. This means you will learn to speak French right from your very first lesson! You will improve your command of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as it is taught in the context of everyday situations. The focus is on developing your listening and speaking skills. You will make excellent progress in communicating in current, conversational French in a very short time.

The Right Level
On the first day, you will be tested (oral and written skills are assessed) and placed in a class according to your ability to speak and understand conversational French. NSL offers classes from beginner to advanced levels.

Experienced Teachers
Our teachers are native French speakers and experienced in using our dynamic and proven approach. They will encourage you to express yourself in Frnech and help you to gain confidence.

Social Activities
The school recognizes the importance of understanding and sharing different cultures. We hope you will take advantage and participate in our weekly after-school social activities. This is where you can make friends, practise your new language skills and learn more about French-Canadian culture and life. See calendar under Social Activities.

Accommodation
If you are coming from out of town, we can place you with a French-speaking host family. You will be provided with your own private room and meals (breakfast only or 3 meals a day). Living with a local family is a great way to practise your French and learn about Québec and Franco-Ontarian culture.
