Application Deadlines
Normally, we must receive your application and fees no later than 5 weeks before the program starts. If you need a Student Authorization or Visa to study in Canada, you need to apply at least 3 months before the program starts. Acceptance of late applications is subject to space availability.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the College, candidates must have proof of high school graduation or be classified as a mature student. Mature students must be at least 19 years of age, out of school for at least one year and pass an entrance examination. Potential students will also be interviewed by a school representative. Application and fees should be received 5 weeks prior to the commencement of the student's studies. Tuition fees are tax deductible.
Language Requirements
A certain level of english is required to enroll in our certificate or diploma programs. International students generally require a TOEFL score of 450 or TOEIC score of 700 or other equivalent score on an english exam (cambridge, etc.) or a passing grade on our english proficiency test to enter a certificate or diploma program.
Students whose English level is not sufficient to enter a certificate or diploma program are first required to upgrade their English ability by enrolling in our ESL program. The length of ESL training depends on your initial level of English and the certificate or diploma program you wish to enter.
How to apply?
We encourage you to apply online, but you may also print out a monospaced Application Form from your browser, complete it and send your application by mail or Fax. Please note that you may apply online only if you pay an application fee and deposit online by credit card.
We accept VISA and MasterCard. In our Online Secure Form, we utilize the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) authentication and RC4 128 bit encryption technology. SSL encryption protects information being transmitted across the internet to our processing center.
Please send us the folowing:
- Completed application (printed or online).
- An autobiographical essay including reasons for wishing to study abroad.
- A non-refundable application fee of US$75, a program deposit of US$200 and the International Student Registration Fee of US$350 (if you require a visa and/or student authorization). The program deposit is a part of your payment for the program and will be deducted from the total program fee.
Upon receiving your application, application fee, deposit and the International Student Registration Fee (if required), we will send you a registration confirmation and Invoice. We must receive the full payment of tuition and accommodation fees at least 5 weeks before the commencement of your program.
Upon receiving the full payment, the international student will receive The Official Letter of Acceptance and an Official Receipt. The Official Letter of Acceptance is required for obtaining a Student Authorization at a Canadian Embassy or High Commission in your country of origin.
Any international student who studies more than 6 months requires a Student Authorization.
You may pay by wire transfer, cashiers check, money order, or by credit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard. You will find payment details on the printable monospaced or online secure Application forms.
Terms and Conditions
General
IPSA and Member Schools are not liable in any cases of force majeure (according to the law) or for actions of the students and their consequences.
Visa Requirements
You do not need a study permit if you are planning to study in a short-term program in Canada of six months or less, but you may need a visa to visit Canada.
To visit Canada you:
- must be healthy. You might need a doctor's examination;
- must respect Canadian laws;
- will need a valid passport, proof of who you are or other travel documents; and
- will need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) if you are from one of these countries (Click on the above lick to review the list of these countries).
For updated and complete information, please contact the nearest Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your home country.
Postponement of Courses, Changes and Last Minute Bookings.
The office must receive written notification at least 14 days before your course begins in order to transfer the registration to a later course date. COURSE CHANGES only at the discretion of the Director. US$100 handling fee for each change.
For last minute bookings (arrival within 5 weeks) a US$60 supplement will be charged.
Refund Policy
- If a Student Visa application is denied, all fees, except the application and the International Student Registration fees, will be refunded. The Student must return the Official letter of Acceptance, along with a letter from the Immigration Department stating that the student visa was denied.
- Applicants with Student Authorization and Visas:
- If a student withdraws from the School up to 30 days prior to entering Canada, all tuition fees will be refunded. The application and International Student Registration fees will not be refunded.
- If a student withdraws from the School less than 30 days prior to the beginning of classes or entering Canada, all fees are refunded, except the application and International Student Registration fees and a $200 processing fee.
- If an international student, already in Canada, withdraws after acceptance to the School, or uses the Letter of Acceptance from the School to obtain admission into Canada, or to extend an existing visa, the School will retain all fees.
- Applicants who do not need visa or student authorization:
- If a student withdraws from the School up to 30 days prior to the beginning of classes, all fees are refunded, except the application and course registration fees.
- If a student withdraws from the School less than 30 days prior to the beginning of classes, all fees are refunded, except the application and course registration fees and a $200 processing fee.
- Courier service and bank fees, if any, are non-refundable.
- Program fee is refunded no later than 30 days after the original letter of acceptance and a letter from the Canadian Embassy (or a cancellation notice for applicants who do not need visa to visit Canada) have been received. Refunds are made in U.S. Dollars after converting program fees in CAD according to the local currency exchange rate for sellers of the currency.
- No refund is available after the student has arrived in Hamilton or after the program starts.
