We provide high-quality English language program in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. The classroom is just one tool to learn English. Our English Programs and Professional Programs require students to interact with the human community, the natural environment and other students to succeed.

Our staff are professional English instructors. Our English Programs focus on improving communication skills quickly. Our Professional Programs use current methodology to assist students achieve their goals. We use the assets of the Rocky Mountains - a challenging natural environment, a friendly and small community and global technology - to assist students in their studies.

Our programs encourage students to face challenges. THe Canadian Rockies offer many opportunities to try new things, to test our limits and to appreciate the beauty of nature. By working in multicultural teams students are required to communicate in English and all of our activities include an English Teacher for guidance and correction.

Students must become a part of the community if they want to improve their English. Our Professional Programs, Homestays, Volunteer Program, Internships and English plus Activities allow students to practice their English in real situations with real results.

English Language School in Canmore offers three different course formats which permits us to meet your individual needs, expectations and budgets.

• English Communication
  This program focuses on communicating in English through the development of core language skills. Program is offered at all levels.


• Academic Preparation
  Academic Preparation Program is for students applying to English colleges, universities or other post-secondary programs. Minimum Intermediate level is required.


• Global Managers
  The Global Management program is designed to prepare students for the world of Global Management. We emphasis intercultural communication in English to achieve goals. Minimum Intermediate level is required.


• TOEIC Preparation
  This program is for students interested in improving listening and reading skills and taking the TOEIC test. Minimum Low-Intermediate level is required.


• TOEFL Preparation
  This program is for students interested in improving listening and reading skills and taking the TOEFL test. Minimum Low-Intermediate level is required.

Before starting classes all students are to sit for a written Placement Test as well as take part into an oral evaluation. The combined results of these two tests allow for the placement of new students in their appropriate level. In the event that students feel that they were misplaced a Placement Grievance Procedures is in place for their placements to be reconsidered.

To better respond to the individual needs and abilities of our students we offer 8 different levels. Each level takes aproximately 12 weeks to complete.

The levels are:

• Beginner
• Upper beginner
• Pre-Intermediate
• Lower Intermediate
• Intermediate
• Upper Intermediate
• Pre-Advanced
• Advanced

Even though our classes can accommodate up to 14 students we normally have an average of 8 students per class. This small class setting allows for our students to receive the individual attention required for them to succeed in their course of study.
