Schools, Dates and Fees
If you teach, or plan to teach English in your own country, you will be interested in our courses for Overseas Teachers of English. You can prepare for the Cambridge Examination in English for Language Teachers (CEELT). We concentrate on developing your English Language skills and you are able to observe, examine and discuss new methods of teaching, presented in a working environment. This not only refreshes and advances your present knowledge of English, but offers you the opportunity of using our extensive Learning Centre in order to discover the latest in EFL teaching technology. Our School is also an approved centre for the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), so all our tutors are experienced teacher-trainers.
Course Content
- Language development - this section of the course will refresh and extend participants' knowledge and use of English structure, vocabulary, phonology, style and range as well as giving plenty of practice in the language skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking.
- Methodology and practical classroom techniques - explores current methods and developments in ELT. Techniques are demonstrated and discussed and there is the opportunity for per teaching.
- Observation - the college can arrange task based observation of its own teachers and follow up discussions to evaluate techniques and approaches.
- Visits - visits to primary/secondary schools in the area may be possible to arrange. These would involve observation of classes and discussions with state sector teachers where appropriate.
- Teaching aids and materials - time on the course is devoted to teaching through multi-media, the use of computers, video and listening centre. The college has excellent facilities and a wide range of teaching techniques.
- Special interest - based on pre-course questionnaires, each course is adapted to meet the language needs and teaching situations of a group. Areas of special interest can include use of pop music in the classroom, exploiting literary texts, project-based teaching, setting up a self-access centre and so on.

- Standard Teachers of English Course: Four or two week courses, 26 lessons per week.
- Closed groups of overseas teachers: These can be arranged to suit your particular needs. We will negotiate the content of the course, suitable number of hours and specific aims. These courses normally require a minimum of 6 participants.

Eastbourne is a safe, friendly place to live and study English. English Language School in Eastbourne has a variety of courses and the school is relaxed, friendly and fun.
Beautifully situated at the base of the South Downs, Eastbourne has always been appreciated by the English, but is less well known to the foreign visitor. It is a sparkling clean town, one of the sunniest on the south coast. The glorious white cliffs of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters are part of a magnificent headland which sweeps across the Downs as far as Brighton.
Nowadays a great change has come to the town as shops, cafes and restaurants have opened to meet the needs of a new population, making the town a lively and busy place. Sports clubs, swimming pools, a multi-screen cinema and a large modern marina have all added excitement to the social life of the town.
Our English Language School in Eastbourne is an elegant building in spacious grounds, only 100 metres from the most attractive beaches in the town, and has its own outdoor swimming pool.

London Central English Language School is a large, lively, very international school with a friendly atmosphere and personal service. It is very well-equipped and offers excellent value.
The school is located in a 100 year old building in the centre of London, only 5 minutes from the West End, "Theatre Land" and the British Museum. We have 32 spacious classrooms, plus a dedicated Executive Centre with special facilities for our professional students.
The school is very well equipped for self study with a reference library and TV/video centre, a 16 station language laboratory and separate computer laboratory. The school has a good mix of nationalities among its students, and combines a professional approach to teaching with a lively social programme of visits and excursions. Trainee teachers are encouraged to join in with these activities and to attend seminars of the school's own Teacher Development Programme, which includes workshops given by outside speakers or by our own experienced staff.
London Central is the only school in London with its own student residence on the upper floors of the main school premises. Newly refurbished study-bedrooms offer students and trainees a unique chance to live and study in the same building.

Students from all over the world study at the London Highgate English Language School, which also provides an opportunity to mix with British university graduates taking our teacher training courses.
Highgate, situated in North London, is one of the most delightful of London's 'villages'. It is only 20 minutes by underground to the very centre of London, but it is surrounded by the green of Highgate Woods, with Hampstead Heath within walking distance. Highgate is an attractive residential area with homestay available near to the School.
The School itself has a large garden suitable for both relaxation and our summer barbecue parties. The library has television and video equipment as well as providing books to borrow and a place to study. The language laboratory and computers are available for private study in addition to being teaching aids in our courses. There are facilities near the school for swimming, squash, tennis and football.
