The German exam "Zertifikat Deutsch" has been developed together with the Goethe Institute (Germany), the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and the WBT Frankfurt and is a co-production of all these institutions.
The candidate has to handle everyday situations in a receptive as well as productive way. This applies to the communication ability within the linguistic proficiency - the use of words and phrases in daily life particularly in the private, semi public and to some extent in the professional area. At this level the exam puts as much emphasis on the understanding skills as on the production skills.
Format of examination:
- istening comprehension and language elements: three parts, listening for gist and detail, two parts with multiple-choice items
- reading comprehension: three parts, reading for gist and detail
- written expression: letter (4 guiding points)
- oral examination: social contacts, topic-based conversation, Task
Prerequisite:
350 - 400 units of intensive study, completion of Basic Level 3
Level:
The ZD of OSD follows the level B1 / Threshold of the Common European Framework.
