Application Deadlines
We encourage you to apply as far in advance as possible. Normally, we must receive your application and a full payment of tuition fees no later than 40 days before the program starts. Acceptance of late applications is subject to space availability and last minute booking supplement.
Visa Requirements
Anyone who is not an Australian citizen needs a valid visa to enter and stay in Australia. There are many types of visas, each designed to suit a specific purpose, the length of the proposed stay in Australia and the type of activities people want to do when they get here.
If you are going to study English or take one of the English Plus Activities courses (English plus Activities, English and Surfing or Diving, or English and Music and you do not intend to stay in Australia more than 3 month, you need to apply for a Visitor/Tourist visa.
If you are going to study English full-time for more than 3 months, you need to apply for a student visa. You may apply for this type of visa only if an education or training course offered by an Australian education provider registered with the Australian Government to offer courses to overseas students. English School in Burleigh Heads is registered with the Australian Government to offer courses to overseas students. Its CRICOS Provider Code: 02462J.
How to apply?
- Online. You may apply online only if you pay an application fee and a tuition deposit online by credit card. We accept VISA and MasterCard. In our Online Secure Application Form, we utilize the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) authentication and RC4 128 bit encryption technology. SSL encryption protects information being transmitted across the internet to our processing center.

- You can also send your application by Fax or Mail. Just print out a Monospaced Printable Application Form from your browser, complete it and send your application by fax or mail. If you decide to use a Monospaced Printable Application Form, you can pay the application fee and the tuition deposit by credit card, certified (cashiers) check, money order or wire transfer. You will find detailed payment instructions on the application form.

Please send us the folowing:
- Completed application (printed or online).
- An autobiographical essay including reasons for wishing to study abroad (optional).
- A non-refundable application fee of US$75 and a Tuition Deposit of US$200. If you apply less than 30 days before the program starts, please also send a last minute bookings supplement in the amount of US$60.00. The above fees and the deposit are part of the cost of your program and are deducted from the total of the program fees after conversion into Australian dollars according to the current exchange rate for buyers communicated by IPSA on the invoice date. Please note that your application will be considered only when your payment of the application fee(s) and the tuition deposit has been received.
Next Steps:
Upon receiving your application and your payment of the required fee(s) and the tuition deposit, we will e-mail you a confirmation letter of your enrolment details and invoice for the balance due. The balance may be paid in Australian or in U.S. Dollars. Please note that normally we must receive a full payment of the program fees at least 40 days before the commencement of your program.
You may pay by wire transfer, certified (cashiers) check, money order, or by credit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard. You will find payment details on the Application forms.
Students who need a student visa have to send us course fees first. We will then issue a confirmation of enrollment - COE. This COE must be presented to the embassy with a student visa application form.
Australian immigration policy requires that all tuition costs for English language training be paid prior to visa issue.
In some countries, you will need to complete pre-visa assessment* (PVA) before you can pay the balance of fees (if you apply for a students visa. PVA is not required if you going to come on a tourist visa).
If you need pre-visa-assessment (PVA), do not pay the fees until you receive your visa approval from Immigration. Send us your visa approval form with your notice of payment.
Upon receiving your full payment we will send you a Letter of Acceptance (if you are coming on a tourist or a working holiday visa).
If you are applying for a student visa, we send you a copy of your Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) when we receive your fee payment. You do not need an original eCoE. The Australian diplomatic mission will accept your copy. We will also send you a letter of acceptance.
* If you are from one of the LEVEL 4 countries listed below:

and want to apply for a student visa you also need to fax or mail us a copy of your IELTS results (must be at least 5.0). An application with your original signature may also be required.
Other Terms and Conditions of Enrollment
Please read carfully all terms and conditions appearing on our web site before applying to our programs.
General
IPSA and Member Schools are not liable in any cases of force majeure (according to the law) or for actions of the students and their consequences.
IPSA and the School reserve the right to change the fees, conditions, course times, timetables, class locations, class size and course commencement dates at any time without notice. Where the School terminates or does not offer a course and is unable to offer a suitable alternative course, you will be refunded the full amount of unused fees that you have paid.
Classes and students.
- The School reserves reserves the right to dismiss any student:
- who falls below the 80% attendance requirement without valid reason. (This will result in enrollment cancellation and immigration will be advised)
- whose conduct reflects unfavourably upon the school during their attendance.
In such cases no refund will be made.
- Study days lost to late commencement on course are not recoverable. There are no refunds for public holidays or absences occurring during your course.
Cancellations, refunds, last minute booking and late payments
Postponement of Courses, Changes and Last Minute Bookings
- The office must receive written notification at least 30 days before your program begins in order to transfer your reservation to a later course date.
- For last minute bookings and last minute changes, as well as for the late payments (arrival within 30 days) a US$60.00 supplement will be charged.
Airport pick-up and accommodation fees policy:
- The Accommodation placement fee is non refundable unless your visa has been rejected.
- The Airport pick-up fee is non refundable unless your visa is rejected, and you give the school 2 weeks written notice. If your flight plan has been changed, please give the school as much notice as possible. If you give the school less than 24 hours notice, you may be required to pay another airport pick-up fee.
- Once you arrive in Australia, there is no refund on the minimum 4 week booking of Homestay. However if you are unhappy with your Homestay we will move you to your new Homestay free of charge. If you book more than 4 weeks of Homestay accommodation and later wish to cancel, you must give at least 2 weeks notice, or a charge equal to 2 weeks accommodation will be deducted.
Cancellation before arrival
You must inform the office in writing. Cancellation fees are charged as follows, and any balance is refunded less non-refundable items (application fee, last minute booking and late payment supplemens, course registration, accommodation placement and bank fees and payment processing charges, international courier service fee):
More than 28 days before the program begins: Cancellation fee of US$200.
28 days or less, but more tan 14 days before the program begins: Cancellation fee of US$200 and 25% of your tuition fees.
No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received less than 14 days before the program starts.
If your application for a student visa is denied, your cancellation notice and a copy of the denial letter from the Australian Embassy must reach us no later than 14 days before the program starts in order to be eligible for refund according to the terms and conditions listed above. Withdrawing a visa application is not considered to be a rejection.
Cancellation after arrival
In no case money will be refunded once the course has started. No refund can be given for partial attendance or the discontinuance or interruption of a course/program.
